TTG’s General Machining Techniques program is a foundational course which is designed for individuals who want to gain essential general machining skills but are not registered as apprentices. Running concurrently with our Level 1 General Machinist in-class training, this program provides a pathway to explore and learn the fundamentals of general amchining.
Trainees will learn the theory and practical applications of various machining processes, blueprint reading, trade math and safety protocols. This course is ideal for career-changers, high school graduates, or newcomers looking to enter the Ontario manufacturing workforce.
It is expected that program graduates will be prepared to enter the workforce in an entry level General Machining postion following the completion of this program.
This program is divided into two semesters and a minimum overall grade average of 70% is required at the end of semester 1 in order to proceed to semester 2.
